When I originally planned my Europe backpacking trip, I had pretty much every European country on my itinerary. Morocco and Egypt even popped on there a few times. Given my time and budget constraints, I had to scale it back. I embraced the fact that I’m a slow traveler; I like to spend more time in one place than to hop around every few days to a new city. I can experience the culture, people, food and atmosphere better this way. So unfortunately, more southern countries like Spain and Italy got axed. I vowed that I WOULD visit them eventually. And amazingly, I was able to make that promise come true just 2 short years later. Barcelona was an easy trip from France, so I made it happen!
